Katherine C. McDonald is an experienced New York City actress who recently relocated to the fantastic, sun drenched city of Miami, FL. Originally from Texas, Katherine earned a B.A in theatre and philosophy from Baylor University. With a fascination with New England since childhood, Katherine was then drawn to Boston where she pursued a career in acting for several years. Favorite Boston roles range from playing the sultry dominatrix Benita in Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love to the tortured Martirio in The House of Bernarda Alba. After enhancing her acting chops in Boston, she was ready to make the move to the Big Apple where she performed in a variety of productions, ranging from classical theatre to sketch comedy. Her most memorable roles include Le Franc in an all-female version of  Jean Genet’s Deathwatch, Joan in an immersive site-specific production of Terence Rattigan’s After the Dance, and Rebecca West in her own textual adaption of Ibsen’s Rosmserholm. While in New York, she also had the privilege of serving on the board of Random Access Theatre, an established independent theatre company that reimagines the classics for a contemporary audience. She was also a proud company member of Drama Desk nominated WorkShop Theater Company. In addition to theatre, Katherine is proud to have booked several co-star television roles, including Detective Carol Beeman on season three of the Netflix series BLOODLINE and Mrs. Mulligan on the Nickelodeon series I AM FRANKIE. She has also starred in independent films, including the award winning short Lost Language.

As a performer, Katherine enjoys playing strong women of great intellect and wit. She also loves portraying the seemingly “good girl” who surprises herself and others with her bold, even shocking choices. She thrives in drama, but also has a strong knack for comedy, particularly roles that utilize her wry humor. As an avid scuba diver and beach lover, Katherine is thrilled to continue her career in Miami. In addition to her love of acting and diving, Katherine has a passion for international travel, writing, philosophy, and stellar Mexican food and margaritas.  She continues to pursue all of these passions with determination and abandon.
